FALP
FALP s.r.l. is a mechanical engineering company located in Naples (Italy), founded in 1996, operating in the sector of the sheet metal processing. Actually, it produces metal elements for civil and industrial buildings, aimed at protecting them from atmospheric agents and ensuring the correct water and fumes outflow (i.e., air and smoke pipelines; roofing systems; fixing elements for the installation of solar panels, etc). The production processes are characterized by an intensive automation. From the strategic point of view, FALP is involved in product innovation processes to explore opportunities to export toward emerging countries. It currently counts 24 employees with different expertise and skills.
In the last years FALP started to undertake actions to optimize environmentally performances of its operations and of the whole supply chains of its products. In this context, it collaborated with the University of Naples Federico II in the context of a granted European project (PrESS – Promoting Environmetally Sustainable SMEs), aimed at developing a web-based platform for supporting SMEs in the implementation of appropriate environmental strategies. In the context of such project, it took part to a pilot study conducted on SMEs aimed at testing an innovative decision support system to define re-engineering processes aimed at reducing environmental impact of its operations. Moreover, it played a pivotal role in the engagement of other local SMEs in the project, as pilot case studies, thanks to its strong relationships with the other firms of the territory.

Mr Michele Prisco | Manager of the company. His activities are mainly focused on strategic planning, product innovation, marketing and supplier selection. As co-founder of the company, he followed all the innovation processes during the last decades. He is strongly involved in activities related to the performance improvement in terms of sustainability and environmental production impact. | |
Ms Marica Prisco | Management Engineer. During her master degree studies, she specialized on the topics of the green supply chain management and the environmental sustainability., also thanks to the partecipation to international dedicated courses (i.e., International Summer School on Optimization and Decision Support System for Supply Chains) and to her master degree thesis, through which she had the opportunity to apply, in the context of the familiar company, the most innovative methodologies for environmental performance measurement and analysis. Afterwards, she collaborated with the University of Naples Federico II in the context of a granted European Project, aimed at developing a web-based platform for supporting SMEs in the implementation of environmental strategies. She was responsible of testing such platform within FALP and other 5 local SMEs. Currently, she provides to FALP consultancy to lead re-engineering projects of some production processes and products of FALP company. |
